Endangered Species
There are 33 endangered, rare, and threatened species in the parks! All of the Site Stewardship sites host one or more of these sensitive critters, including the Mission blue butterfly, the San Bruno elfin, the San Francisco garter snake, and the California red-legged frog.
2008 is GGNRA Endangered Species Big Year!
The GGNRA Endangered Species Big Year will enable individuals to explore the diverse habitats of the GGNRA while helping each of the 33 endangered and threatened species that call the Park home. In the process, community members will discover the humility, compassion, and hope embodied in the legal protections for this land and our imperiled neighbors. For more information on this exciting initiative
